How Does MBTI® Work?
The MBTI® is a short, multiple choice questionnaire used to identify your preferences on four dimensions shown here. Usually consisting of 93 items, it takes thirty minutes to answer and self score. By combining your four preference letters, we determine your overall TYPE. Altogether, there are 16 different personality Types and these are shown in the Type Table.
Each of the Types has a its own set of preferred behaviours and personality functioning. By reading the profile for your Type and determining its accuracy in describing your general behaviour, you can decide how correctly you have been Typed. Over 80% of people agree with their MBTI® Typing, but there can be some mistakes in the process. Consequently, we spend a further 45 minutes explaining the underlying ideas of MBTI® and checking that preferences have been correctly identified.

Most training then incorporates a series of exercises to bring the theory to life and make it useable in everyday life.
Overall, the basic process is quick, efficient, non-invasive and pleasant. Most people are amazed by the accuracy of the profile ascribed to them by their Type and they find descriptions of the other Types most enlightening. Specific uses of the Typing, such as team building and conflict resolution, can then be rapidly instigated.
