Strategic Thinking
i2i
(ideas to implementation)

Have you at times wondered ........
"Why did I not think of that?"
Or
"Why did my great idea only come to me after the event!?".
What is Strategic Thinking?
Strategic Thinking is the ability to add value to long term goals—with a win-win for both organization and the individual. This is possible when employees are able to appreciate the big and small pictures (the relationship between daily tasks and long term vision) and thus refocus activities to ensure goal attainment. As strategic thinkers, employees will use their natural abilities (analytical and creative tools) to create value innovations in existing strategies, processes and products with a focus on implementation.
Why Strategic Thinking is important?
Organizations are coping with massive challenges in a very competitive environment. Employees need to develop strategies, to cope with these challenges for both short and long term, and in existing plans as well as in crisis. This necessitates the ability to analyze challenges and seek unique or creative solutions---and implement these solutions as quickly as possible in the interest of clients and stakeholders.
Strategic Thinking suggests that employees would behave like entrepreneurs in the search for continuous innovations without any directives-- if they can see win-win situations for themselves and the organization.
“No matter how difficult or unprecedented the problem, a breakthrough to the best possible solution can come only from a combination of rational analysis based on the real nature of things and imaginative reintegration of all the different items into a new pattern, using non linear brainpower”
Kenichi Ohmae—Author of <The Mind of the Strategist>
Strategic thinking empowers employees by providing them the motivation and skills to bring about value innovations. Employees are motivated when they realize that the organization’s vision holds possibilities in meeting their aspirations. The strategic thinking skills ensure that they can create and implement value innovations that would help in securing the future for the organization.
Participants will understand the process involved in Strategic Thinking and develop an action plan for implementation in their own organization. The expected results will be new strategies, processes, products and other improvements; from ideas to implementation (i2i)
